THIEME has reorganised its sales activities. As a result, the responsibilities for the Decorative and Functional printing segments have changed hands.

The end of 2017 was also the end of an era at Thieme: Jürgen Weischedel, former figurehead of the sales department and a driving force behind the success of the medium-sized print machine manufacturer, retired in December. Now, it is time for the younger generation to move up – or rather, next two generations: Jürgen Sexauer, aged 50, assumed responsibility for the Decorative Print segment while the Functional Print activities were taken over by 28-year old Nicolas Jahr. Our customer projects within the Glass Print segment have been managed by Christian Schweickert since 2011. Overall print system sales have been managed by Oliver Beck since 2011 who is also responsible for the global key accounts.

Jürgen Sexauer, who joined Thieme in September 2017, has extensive knowledge and a wealth of experience in the area of offset printing which he will now apply in his new responsibility for the Decorative Print segment. Jürgen trained in the area of marketing and media technology and has many years’ sales experience.
Nicolas Jahr, a mechanical engineer, has vast technological know-how and international project experience. He joined Thieme in July 2016 and has since been focussing on the area of Functional Print. As a member of the “Digital Natives” generation, the progressing digitisation and interconnectivity in the printing industry is a topic very close to his heart.

Alignment of Sales to market segments
The generation change is accompanied by a new alignment of Thieme's sales activities: “Going forward, we will focus less on regional support and increasingly on the various market segments”, explains Sales Manager Oliver Beck. This strategy was also reflected in the new distribution of responsibilities in the areas of Decorative, Functional and Glass printing. “This enables us to effectively leverage our expertise in each market.”

Thieme offers both screen printing and digital printing machines for the three market segments above based on a uniform machine platform. Thieme printing systems are used in the Decorative Print segment to print signs, displays, membrane keypads, and many other graphical applications. In the Glass Print segment to print architecture and automobile glass, white goods and technical glass. In the Functional Print segment, functional layers such as adhesives, seals or conductive materials are applied to various substrates. These industrial production steps are required, for example, for manufacturing sensors or cylinder head gaskets.
